Homestead Dreams
I discovered this powerful video while Googling up on the subject of Homesteading. What a joy it was to have come across it.
Being an American, I had never heard of Smoky Dawson, but if you are an Australian you most certainly know of him. Smoky seems to be the Aussie equivalent of our own Roy Rogers. Like Roy, he was a gentle man with a wholesomeness and purity of voice. In reading through several tributes to him, the central theme of goodness and love of life and the land was a constant theme from virtually every one who knew him either personally or through his music and entertainment career.
Listen and look into the joyful soul of this simple little man as he sings of his love for “The Homestead Of My Dreams.”
