Hi!! I live in central MN. For 20 years I lived on a hobby farm and tried to achieve self suffuiency. I raised all of our food and grew herbs for medicinal and cooking. Now, after 3 years of livning in town I am back on a farm and trying to achieve the same again with a new partner. He already has a good start with the love of gardening and has a wood boiler that heats our floors and water and also heats a large shop. We are planning to do lots of projects that can make us indepnedent livers. We are planning on building a greenhouse this summer off of our shop so we can heat it in the winter with the wood boiler. Anyway, glad to be back on the community of awseome people!!!!!

What an awesome place you seem to have found.

Tell me, is your wood furnace one of those outside types where the heat is piped in via underground pipes?  I see where that is quite popular up your way.  My brother in New Hampshire uses one and swears by it.
